Phase 4 High Frequency Word Games
**Teach the 20 phase 4 ‘Letters and Sounds’ high frequency words. Simply laminate, cut out and have fun!
Included are:
High Frequency word cards (in colour and B+W) – for each word – use for whole class/group/independent activities. You could print 2 copies and play a pairs game.
Sandcastle Sprint board game (in colour and B+W), instructions, playing pieces & die – make your way around the board, saying the words as you go! Who will be first to reach the sandcastle?

Phonics Blending Game - CVC Words
**Teach your class to read consonant-vowel-consonant words with this fun pack!
Children should say the sounds as they drive their car past the trees and then blend them together to read the word.
Road mats with the following words are provided (one word per mat):
Middle ‘a’ sound: dad, bag, jam, fan, cat
Middle ‘e’ sound: bed, leg, hen, ten, net

**This phase 2 high frequency words activity will help your class learn to read and write! Children should blend to read the word, cut and paste to make the word and finally write the word. FUN hands-on learning for your phonics lessons!
The following are included in b/w:**
32 activity sheets, each containing 1 of the phase 2 high frequency words to blend, paste and write. The tricky word activity sheets are labelled ‘read, paste and write’, as children do not yet have the phonic knowledge to be able to blend these.
To complete the activity the children will:

Do you need a fun, hands-on activity for teaching children to read CVC words? With this resource your pupils search for and blend the initial, medial and final sounds in words using the magical ‘show me’ window! The show me charts focus on the short vowel sounds and are perfect for different levels of ability.
This activity can be used for a whole-class introduction, as a guided group activity or in your literacy area. Just print and laminate. To make the Show Me windows, laminate and cut around the frame, cut out the rectangular box in the middle and then place over a chart to search for words! I spy game - search for and read tiny sight words in the spring picture, using a magnifying glass;
Roll and read game (roll the die and read the words in the matching column);
Sight word spinners – 7 bright spinners. Spin the spinner and read the sight word;
Countdown game – set a timer and see how many sight words the children can read in 1 minute;

Children should say the sounds as they drive their car past the clouds and then blend them together to read the word.
*Road mats with the following words are provided (one word per mat):

Letter and Number Recognition Activity
**Teach your class the alphabet and numbers with this fun activity! Children should say the letters or numbers as they drive their toy car past the trees/road signs. This letter and number recognition activity will ensure FUN hands-on learning for your literacy and maths lessons! **
The following are included in colour:
•A, B and C alphabet road mats: children should drive their toy car along the road from left to right. When they reach the tree they should say the letter sound/name. There is an initial sound image included on each mat also, to provide a clue.
•A, B and C alphabet car flashcards: children could match the cars to the correct road mats.
•1, 2 and 3 number road mats: children should drive their toy car along the road from left to right. When they reach the sign they should say the number. Children can then count the number of birds in the picture.
•1, 2 and 3 number car flashcards: Children could match the cars to the correct road mats.

Monster in my Classroom - Mini Writing and Creativity Unit *UPDATED*
